Dimensional Measurement is being around since the invention of “WHEEL” as understood by mankind. As we evolved and reached the 21st century, so did dimensional measurement techniques that resulted in different types of product families. Together, these product families cover the breadth of dimensional metrology solutions—from large, fixed CMMs and portable articulating arms to advanced optical scanners, tactile gauges, and integrated inspection systems.
Participants will gain knowledge in the following areas:
- How each family is optimized for different measurement tasks, from high-volume industrial inspection to high-precision, microscale measurement
- The choice of technology depends on the application, required accuracy, part geometry, and environmental conditions
- Highlight the pros and cons of several different technologies to enable the end user
