The
use of gauging and gauge products has continued
to be a growth area in the manufacturing
sector of our economy. Fox Valley Metrology's
knowledge of gauge calibration, calibration
procedures, standards, requirements and
gauge management have earned us a reputation
as an industry leader in the United States.
Industrial
distribution in the United States is going
through an alteration driven by manufacturing's
desire to reduce cost. The number of vendors
allowed by many major manufacturers has
been cut drastically. Integrated supply
contracts have become a standard operating
procedure for many manufacturing companies.
Some distributors have attempted to support
such contracts on their own, only the largest
have had limited success. Many independent
distributors have merged, formed buying
groups, or in the case of the less fortunate,
closed their doors.
Because
of the highly technical nature of metrology,
these trends have, for the most part, not
included most of the metrology products.
Where they have, the "industrial distributor"
looks for help in supplying these products.
Without the technical where-with-all to
support such products, industrial distributors
turn to specialty houses such as Fox Valley
Metrology to satisfy those requirements.
Fox
Valley Metrology works to develop alliances
with other distributors that do not employ
the necessary technical staff to sell and
support these products but wish to participate
in the metrology related fields either because
of their desire to do so or because they
are requested to do so by their customer.
By creating these alliances the number of
sales people that solicit business for our
services are multiplied many folds.
| The
Fox Valley Metrology group gains a share
of the metrology market based on the
following competencies, strategies and
competitive advantages: |
| |
-
By employing personnel of the highest
ability, training them in the field
of expertise in which they are employed. |
| -
Comprehensive understanding of the industry
in which we compete. |
| -
Comprehensive market research, analysis
and coverage accomplished by utilizing
the talents within the organization. |
| -
From conducting independent studies
of the market trends. |
| -
The creation of a facility conducive
to conducting business in a proper environment. |
| -
The understanding and utilization of
the "complete" sales process. |
| -
Establishment of strategic "partnerships"
both with suppliers and customers. |
| -
Continued education of all staff members. |
| -
Constant evaluation of status. |
| -
Continued indentification of new opportunities. |
